Our Story

A chef's journey from Mumbai to Sharjah

Spice Route Restaurant was born in 2019 from a simple dream: bring the authentic flavors of India and Pakistan to Sharjah. Chef Rajesh Kumar, after 20 years cooking at the Taj Hotels in Mumbai and training under master chefs in Delhi and Lahore, wanted to create a place where every dish tells a story β€” of home, of family, of tradition.

What started as a 6-table restaurant in Al Majaz has become one of Sharjah's most beloved dining destinations. In 2021, we expanded to our current 60-seat location. In 2023, we crossed 800 Google reviews with a 4.7-star rating. Today, we serve over 300 customers daily β€” families, couples, business people, all looking for authentic taste.

We don't do fusion. We don't do 'modern Indian.' We do authentic. Every spice is imported from specific regions β€” saffron from Kashmir, cardamom from Kerala, garam masala blended in-house. Our naan is baked fresh in a tandoor oven. Our biryani is slow-cooked for 4 hours. We believe food is memory, and we want every bite to transport you to the streets of Delhi, Lahore, or Karachi.

In 2025, we're launching our catering service for events and weddings. We're also expanding our dessert menu with traditional sweets from across South Asia. Our mission remains the same: serve authentic flavors, treat every guest like family, and never compromise on quality. We invite you to taste the difference at Spice Route.
